Being a coupé SUV, the Polestar 4’s silhouette is noticeably lither than that of the larger SUV, with a low nose and a steeply raked rear roofline that tapers down to the rear light bar that spans the width of the car.

Dimensionally, the Polestar 4’s length and wheelbase (4,839mm and 2,999mm respectively) give it a footprint that closely rivals that of a Porsche Cayenne, but its low roofline (1,544mm) makes it taller than a Taycan but lower than other similarly sized coupé SUVs like the Cayenne coupé or a BMW X6.

Inside, the dashboard of the Polestar 4 is still distinctly Scandic-minimalist, with a large landscape-oriented screen with 15.4-inches of real estate and a smattering of sustainably made interior fixtures that include textiles made from recycled PET bottles, MicroTech vinyl, animal welfare-secured Nappa leather and ECONYL (made from recycled fishnets) floor carpets.

Curiously, in a rather strange deviation from traditional vehicle manufacturing, Polestar has opted to eliminate the rear window to allow for more headroom in the aft of the cabin - due to the sloping coupé SUV roofline. To ensure visibility out the rear, the rearview mirror incorporates a high-definition display that projects a live feed from the roof-mounted rear camera, providing a wider field of view than what would’ve been possible with a conventional mirror.

To ensure that the car’s rear occupants still get plenty of natural light, the Polestar 4 comes as standard with a full-length panoramic glass roof that extends beyond the rear passenger headrests, allowing for an airy ambience in the cabin. A dimmable electrochromic glass roof can be had as an option or with the optional Plus Pro Pack.

Production of Polestar’s new coupé SUV is slated to begin in November 2023, with an initial launch for the Chinese market before a full-scale launch for other regions (Europe, North America and Asia Pacific) begins in early 2024.

In Singapore, we should expect the Polestar 4 to make landfall toward the end of 2024. Indicative launch prices for the Polestar 4 are quoted at EUR60,000. On the road in Singapore, the Polestar 4 may cost somewhere within the region of S$380k with COE when it arrives, but we’d have to wait untill the launch date draws nearer for confirmed prices.
